by BBC Facts presents a reinterpretation of one of the best -known brands in television history – with dinosaurs. 25 years later, since they stamped for the first time about our screens to maintain critical and audience results, this new series will show the life of six incredible dinosaurs like never before.
From the mountain forests in Alberta to Red Rock Canyons from Utah; The audience can expect a unique journey through time and experience the incredible life stories of these long -lost giants.
In the six episodes we meet a number of spectacular dinosaur species in a series of prehistoric landscapes.
This includes a Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaurs who ever change on Earth – the rivers of the old Morocco; A youthful Triceratops who fought against a starved T. Rex in North America; And a lonely giant Lusotitan who risks everything for a love in Portugal.
Thanks to the most modern science, experts can reveal how these prehistoric creatures have lived, hunted, fought and died.

When the dinosaur bones emerge from the ground, the series will make these prehistoric stories with state-of-the-art visual effects. What makes every episode a gripping dinosaur drama based on the latest evidence.
Q&A with series Showrunner Kirsty Wilson
What can viewers expect from this series? What is different about this series of walks with dinosaurs compared to the original?
25 years ago, the BBC broadcast one of the most visually impressive and successful shows that it has ever done. The VFX and the animatronics in the first series of Dinosaurers were nothing like someone seen before. So we knew that we had to have the same innovative ambition at this show. To be honest, it was a terrible challenge to reinterpret one of the most cult and popular BBC programs of all time!
While the first series focused exclusively on the prehistoric world, we decided that it was time to show real dinosaur ditch and to relying our VFX on the scientific evidence that comes from the ground today. This made it possible for us to tell the most amazing dinosaur stories, but the audience will also literally be able to see the scientific evidence that these stories are based on themselves, to bring out of the dust out of the dust!
But perhaps our greatest turn is that every episode does not focus on one way, but the history of a single guiding factor dinosaurs to one of the most dramatic points in their life. This is a series in which you scream according to your dinosaur hero and find you “love” for you and bite your nails while you are unimaginable obstacles and on the edge of your seat when you fight for survival!
Do you have outstanding moments?
There were so many that it is difficult to choose one! To be on the DIG sites to keep moments in front of the camera when segments of dinosaur arms that are larger than we are, or the remains of one of the largest herds in the earth that have ever existed, and to know that we were the first people they saw in over 65 million years. Each of our incredible Dig sites was a real privilege.
But then there were some really silly moments that I will never forget, as if members of the production team are stamping around, racing or even swimming through rivers. For the recording, it was not what the team had in their downtimes! We dress blue from head to toe (including full face masks!) And go to a movement in the environment, as if we were dinosaurs who clean up for ferns or create waves in the water, and then the VFX company can later remove us from the shot – the blue suit makes it much easier! I was not immune and ran through the bushes in the rain, which pretended to be a baby triceratops!
But when we saw our heroes dinosaurs, characters that we had thought about, about whom we wrote on their bones for years and were finally brought to life on the screen for the first time, it was really unforgettable and actually quite emotional!
What was the biggest obstacle in production at the show?
It was something that we took very, very seriously to ensure that we told exciting stories and did justice to our heroes.
There were so many things we met that surprised us that we had to adapt. I personally didn’t know that grass had not developed further during the time of our dinosaurs! I have often joked that trying to find places where our dinosaurs are used without modern grass to film on the moon! But our team did it.
In every corner we advised experts for experts. We have put together huge amounts of scientific data, checked it and checked it again. We have monitored every step of our dinosaur creations from the translucency of their eyelids to the appearance of their toenails. It was an infinite challenge for the team to ensure that we were just as loyal to science as it is human, but I am very proud to say that they did a great job!
How have progress in science and technology informed the series?
Both progress in science and technology were absolutely the focus of this series. Paleontology is a constantly developing discipline, and new incredible things are constantly being discovered about dinosaurs. When the original walking with dinosaurs came out, we didn’t know that dinosaurs had feathers or that they could have certain brightly colored patterns. This series reflects the latest findings, and the team tirelessly worked on reflecting on these state -of -the -art discoveries as well as possible.
The latest rotating techniques and VFX methods were of crucial importance for our approach. We have a large selection of the best devices that moved the cranes through the Sahara desert or hundreds of pounds kit on a mountain. We wanted this series to be a visual feast, and we wanted the audience to have the feeling of seeing a natural history drama that takes place today. It was crucial to achieve this feeling, to achieve this feeling while we were as urgent as possible.

If you had to choose one, which one would be your favorite dinosaurs and why?
Everyone always asks me what my favorite dinosaurs is and it is simply not possible to answer. I lived our six hero dinosaurs for three years and breathed. I am always asked, do you feel real for you? No, you don’t feel real, you are real! These are real creatures! I saw that their remains came out of the rock and from the proof that they lived real, beautiful and complex life. So sure, our big Lusotitan, who is looking for love, pulls in my pins, and our slow, pregnant, armored dinosaurs make me laugh and baby clover. Our Triceratops feel like such a lovable, brave toddler, but no, I can’t choose a favorite!
